Katrennada Kasmi

Born with a heart for serving others, Katrennada kickstarted her journey gaining legal prowess at Tunis’ top law school: the faculty of juridical political and social sciences of Tunis.

Across seas she sailed, emerging transformed from America’s shores as a Thomas Jefferson Scholar at Augustana University. There, she delved deeply into international relations. She pursued invaluable studies, honing research, data analysis, cultural sensitivity, and critical thinking on complex global issues. This equipped her to navigate intricate legal and social landscapes with nuance. At Augustana University, Katrennada polished invaluable skills like strategic research, nuanced cultural understanding and holistic critical thinking – fully equipping herself to solve humanity’s most complex problems.

Outside of her academics, Katrennada packed her skill-set full of cutting-edge professional experience. She served as a legal secretary to gain insight into law in practice. She also taught language classes to share knowledge and connect with communities. Additionally, she interned as a receptionist at a renowned five-star hotel to develop exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Committed to service, she actively volunteered with institutions and organizations to address injustice and promote positive change. Through her role at the Refugee Center of Sioux Falls, Katrennada demonstrated an innate ability to connect with vulnerable populations. She brought soothing comfort through empathetic listening and reliable aid. Displaced individuals left her care restored with hope for the future. She also engaged in numerous impactful activities through her involvement with the Junior Chamber International of Tunisia (Rades). She adopted behaviors to safeguard the environment by taking part in ecological awareness campaigns aimed at reducing consumption and utilizing renewable energy to combat climate change.

Additionally, Katrennada honed valuable skills through other Junior Chamber initiatives. She promoted speakers at an entrepreneurship event on starting startups, gaining experience in marketing. She also led an oral hygiene awareness campaign for children, designing games and simulations to effectively teach dental health. These Junior Chamber activities demonstrate how Kasmi actively gives back through community service while enhancing her leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Her commitment to volunteering exemplifies her passion for enacting positive change and supporting others.

Ahmad Abu Romman

Youth leader and social activist. He has experience in civil society (NGO) since 2016. He has volunteered in several projects focused on youth and economic development. Also, he cooperated with a team from the Jusoor Project to launch two initiatives in the field of mental health and education for people with special needs. Moreover, he won the Best Delegate Award in the Arab Council (United Nations Simulation Programme) for the year 2017.

Meriana Asad

Meriana is a Landscape designer who graduated from the University of Jordan. Meriana is known for her adaptability, strong communication skills, and empathy. She is a practical person who loves to engage in entrepreneurial and youth work environments.

She volunteered with AIESEC, a non-profit international organization, to develop leadership in youth and offer them opportunities abroad to volunteer or get an internship. Furthermore, she was part of the Study of the U.S. Institutes for Young Women Leaders (SUSI) program, which had a role in developing her leadership skills, civic engagement, women empowerment, and proposal writing.

She has participated in many projects in various countries, such as the Human Rights Project in Lithuania, the Future Development Project in the Netherlands, and Hikmat Leaders in Jordan. Currently, Meriana is a program coordinator intern at Generations for Peace and is excited to be part of the positive impact on her society.

Osama Al Amosh

An immensely qualified BS fresh graduate. Ready to expand horizons with additional knowledge gained from training and experience. Highly interested in diplomacy, international humanitarian law and foreign policy.

Abdalrahman Naser

Abdalrahman graduated from the University of Jordan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering.

He worked as a trainer for years and trained hundreds of people in various topics, including entrepreneurship and career guidance. He worked and volunteered with many institutions and organizations in several jobs, and he created community initiatives and projects in cooperation with his colleagues and institutions. These initiatives and projects aimed to provide benefit to society, including an initiative to train students recently graduated from the university to prepare them for work. There is also a health project through which free and environmentally friendly sports facilities were created.

He also obtained several accreditations, including the accreditation of an occupational safety and health supervisor, ISO 22000 accreditation, tot train the trainers and others.

Ekram Masatfah

Ekram Ahmad, Occupational Therapist but a volunteer before everything! She is interested in health, education, youth, and human rights. She started volunteering and civic engagement since she was in school, starting with being an alumna of Access English Micro scholarship Program by the U.S. Embassy with more than 400 hours of learning English and community service.

She continued her journey in taking various trainings that shaped her personality and improved her skills. Since, giving back to her local community was always what she thought makes a real impact, she volunteered as a facilitator, mentor and program coordinator in local organisations and youth initiatives in Zarqa, in different projects such as Juveniles Justice and Children Summer Camp.

After graduation from Hashemite University with an excellence degree in Occupational Therapy, she decided to dive into a new adventure, so she applied for the Lazord Fellowship to gain work experience in NGOs and decide her future career path. Working in development sector is where she feels belonging, because she likes working with the community and with vulnerable groups. Acceptance, openness, and respect are her core life values. She considers herself to be a smooth communicator, organised coordinator, and detail-oriented person. Her future vision is to leave an impact in her small world by trying to be better and do better every single day.

Taima AL-Rafayia

Taima is an ambitious young woman working in the community sector. She has strived and worked to reach her goals by becoming a young leader who spread justice and peace, interested in human rights, environment, and leadership.

She obtained a degree in “Leadership” from Harvard Business School. Moreover, she was an intern at Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and, she got a second place for innovate an application that works to protect women in the 14th Regional Youth and Technology conference.

She got a first place in public speaking competition in Jordan.

Sara Issa

Sara Issa has experience in CS and social media advising since she worked directly after graduation with an outsourcing company. She is mostly interested in cultural matters especially with cultural exchange.

Currently, she has a job placement with UNRWA as a Digital Engagement Fellow. She was placed in this position due to her basic skills in content management, customer relationship management software, and in Microsoft Office programs. She is aiming to take advantage of her placement as she is working with a UN agency, to learn the actual language and techniques they are using directly from them. Her endless goal is to strike while the iron is hot and take advantage of every single moment through this life journey.

Tamara Jumean

Tamara is a young driven individual who joined the Lazord Fellowship to pursue her goals and kick-off her journey in civil society engagement. She graduated first in her class from the University of Jordan with a degree in Applied English.

She has previous professional experience working as a translator, and a record of volunteering experience in her local community with children and young adults. She has strong communication and organizational skills, alongside the ability to multitask and grasp new concepts quickly. She is looking forward to contributing with her skills and dedication and further growing them in her new placement as a Program Development Assistant at War Child Holland.

She has a strong passion for civil society and making an impact, as she has always been aware of society’s struggles and the need for solidarity to provide a better life for everyone, especially children. She has always believed in following her dreams, and being part of positive social change is her ultimate dream.

Mousa Badran

A dedicated volunteer for nine years, he initiated his community impact through interactive theatre training with NAYA camp and ActionAid, during high school. This led to the establishment of NAYA, where he held diverse roles, from IT assistant to event coordinator. Furthermore, he expanded his community outreach by engaging with Tawazi Message and Y-Peer for sexual and reproductive health awareness.

Also, he was a participant in the “English Access” Small Scholarship Program, sponsored by the US Embassy, where he immersed himself in the American culture while honing his language skills. He became an ambassador for Zarqa Kasaba and he collaborated with USAID to address community challenges.

Later he evolved into a cybersecurity specialist, and he now leads the cybersecurity unit at Naya Community Network, reflecting a transformative journey shaped by years of volunteering and continuous learning. Currently, he works as M&E with Finn Church Aid.
