Nour graduated from the University of Jordan with a bachelor’s degree in German and English as foreign languages. She was granted two scholarships to study in Germany for eight months due to her academic excellence. These experiences enabled her to be self-reliant and immerse easily in new environments. In 2020, her passion for alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations led her towards pursuing a master’s degree in Social Work/Migration and Refugees at the German Jordanian University and utilizing her acquired skills and knowledge in such a practice-based profession. Lastly, Nour has work experience at Mercy Corps as part of the RYSE project implemented in Al Zaatari camp, which aims to enhance civic engagement skills of Syrian refugee youth through art and sports activities.
When Rahaf Jaber became a translation consultant with several NGOs such as Save the Children and USAID, she realized that humanitarian work inspired her. As of that moment, she opted to widen her experience to become a skillful translator and interpreter in this sector.
Thereby, Rahaf joined Islamic Relief Worldwide in conjunction with the Lazord Fellowship as a Project Support Officer, being chiefly responsible for reporting and translation. She gained outsize experience and added great value to the organization, especially in reporting, translation, and proposal writing.
Rahaf holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Translation from the University of Petra. Thanks to the tremendous curiosity she had towards her major, she proudly graduated at the top of her class. In 2016, she established her own small business as a freelance translator, building good professional relationships with prestigious NGOs and clients since then.
Obada is a human rights activist who has four years of experience in the human development field as a MEAL Officer, an entrepreneur, and a career advisor, while proudly being a Lazord Alumnus.
Abdelrahman is currently working as a U.S. – Jordan Leadership Exchange Senior Program Coordinator.
He has experience in working in various roles in the humanitarian and development field. Previously, Abdelrahman worked with Generations for Peace as a Programs Coordinator on Maharati Leadership Programme, Youth Peace and Security Resolution and Climate Action Programme. Abdelrahman has worked also on Nubader Psychosocial Support Program to support Jordanian and Syrian youth by promoting learning and psychosocial resiliency. Moreover, he has been involved in several volunteering opportunities with different organizations such as Princess Basma Youth Resource Centre, ActionAid, Jordanian Women Qualifying and Training Society, United Nation Volunteers, Al Jude for Scientific Care, International Youth Foundation, SPARK International and Leaders of Tomorrow.
Abdelrahman has an experience in working with youth, children, and women on different fields. He was able to train children on psychodrama as a trainer with ARDD Legal Aid on a community project at Sahab, Amman. In addition, he was a trainer with PBYRC on basic life skills for children from Al Dulail, Jordan, and Syrian refugees aiming to increase social cohesion between these communities.
He worked as a Training Coordinator at Jordan Paramedic Society. In his role, he was responsible for all training development projects of the personnel of The Ministry of Health. Furthermore, he has experience in working as a consultant. He is specialist in the training of trainers, british parliament debate skills and project management of development in civic, social, and political organizations. Also, Abdelrahman is a member of many regional and international youth networks and organizations such as Electron Youth Network and the Lazord Foundation Fellows Network.
Abdelrahman was the facilitator at the Lazord retreat, focusing on the well-being of fellows. He coordinated workshops centered on self-care, mindfulness, and team building. The program aimed to empower fellows, nurturing resilience, and revitalizing their dedication to their missions.
Ayah is a passionate humanitarian, working to help make the world a better place day by day. As a Peace and Conflict Program Officer with Mercy Corps, she is currently working with communities to help alleviate violence and build more cohesive and peaceful communities. Ayah graduated with a B.A. in Applied English Linguistics from the University of Jordan. During her junior year at university, Ayah spent a semester abroad in Bergen, Norway, which she now considers as her second home.
Ayah is a bibliophile who enjoys travelling and watching historical dramas. In her free time, you can find her hiking, baking or reading random articles online.
Bilel has become a different person since he has understood that life is in a constant state of change. Embrace it because it’s inevitable. You change either to stay ahead or to catch up. Change will not come if we wait for some other time or other people. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for, to inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more.
His journey with the Lazord Fellowship has taught him how to manage more than projects. Now he is responsible for managing his life as well. He lacked an environment in which to gain experience, but now he is creating one and betting on his future every day.
Maha is a future entrepreneur based in Sfax who graduated from the Biotechnology Faculty of Sciences in Sfax. She is an associate of Retaste, a brand that promotes healthy eating and produces and sells products containing black garlic. She is an alumna of Aiesec Thyna, a youth leadership development organization, where she was a manager of business to business development. She is a member of JCI Sfax, where she is the director of the project Arti-Sfax. Lastly, she was the team leader of her group who participated in the Hult Prize Challenge.
Oumayma Sessi is an English and International Relations graduate. She chose to dig into this field because of her keen interest in public affairs. Oumayma is a diligent and dedicated person, with a heartfelt desire to make a positive impact. She has contributed to volunteer work with I Watch Organization. Furthermore, she had an enriching experience at the diplomatic level during her internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
By joining the Lazord Fellowship, she started her first professional experience in a field that she is passionate about-the field of humanitarian action in civil society. Through the fellowship, she did her placement at the Tunisian Organization for Social Cohesion, where she was lucky enough to occupy various positions.
Oumayma is a perseverant person who aims to complete tasks to the fullest; she uses her positive attitude and good spirits to also encourage others to accomplish their tasks.
