Nouha Farhat

Nouha Farhat

Nouha Farhat is a Lazord fellow and project coordinator at the Maghreb Economic Forum working on the 3eshra project. She completed her master’s degree in Translation from the Faculty of Letters, Arts and Humanities in Manouba.

Prior to her new position, Nouha had previous experiences with NGOs including “AIESEC” where she was a member of the incoming exchange department promoting community and social development projects. She was also a facilitator in “Jasmine Foundation”, a volunteer interpreter during the “World Social Forum” in 2015 and a short-term observer with “IWATCH” during the legislative elections. She also worked as a teacher’s assistant at an American preschool for two years.

Lina Awwad

Lina Abu-Awwad graduated from the University of Jordan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in 2016. Ever since she graduated from the university she was eager to learn, achieve and make a difference in her society. Joining Lazord will give her the opportunity to develop her skills and knowledge, shape a leadership experience, and meet other talented energetic youth from whom she can learn about their experiences, skills and thoughts.

Mays Nemri

Mays Nemri

Mays is a highly experienced Jordanian non-governmental organizations professional, with over six years of experience coordinating multi-stakeholder local and regional projects in Jordan and the MENA region. Possessing a deep understanding of Jordan’s political and social ecosystem and the broader Middle East and North Africa region, she has particular expertise in designing and implementing interventions that aim to widen and open civic space using social and political innovation, as well as utilizing technology to defend, promote, and protect human rights and advancing social justice in the region.

Through the Lazord Fellowship, Mays was placed at PartnersJordan (PJ) as a Project Coordinator. Over the five years of her tenure at PJ, she held various programmatic roles and was promoted to the position of Programs Coordinator, leading high-level local and regional projects funded by donors such as the World Bank, the EU, and USAID, focusing on human rights and widening civic spaces. In 2023, Mays joined the Innovation for Change Network as a staff member, holding the position of The MENA Hub Regional Coordinator, which she still holds to the present. She developed her expertise in co-design, business development, and adaptive learning, in addition to project coordination, during her time working with PartnersJordan, PartnersGlobal, Innovation for Change, and other social and political change networks.

Natalie Algorani

Natalie Algorani

Natalie Algorani holds a B.Sc from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Jordan. Driven by passion, Natalie has been working on community change projects since 2008. Her projects involve environmental and humanitarian causes,  ranging from peace building to girls’ empowerment. Natalie has been given many prestigious opportunities to represent Jordanian Youth across the globe. Two examples of these opportunities being her participation in the, “Student Leaders,” Program through Georgetown University, and UN Women week at the United Nations Headquarters in NYC. Furthermore, Natalie has conducted 3 research projects involving environmental and social causes, and received an award from the Hamdi Mango Center for Scientific Research for her innovative work on environmental issues in Jordan.

Natalie has led many local initiatives, including a peace club that reached 200 students, and led LitClub in Jordan in partner with LitWorld. In addition, Natalie was a lead pioneer at Generations for Peace and a volunteer with United Nations Volunteers (UNV). Natalie is currently a Program Officer at the HALO Trust.

Maha Al-Saudi

Maha is a dedicated advocate for children’s mental health, possessing a profound commitment to improving the well-being of young individuals. Armed with an MSc degree in Clinical Psychology, specializing in children and young people’s mental health, from the University of Edinburgh, Maha stands at the forefront of her field. With a career spanning over 5 years, she has immersed herself in the realm of international non-governmental organizations, where she has championed causes related to child protection, safeguarding, and gender issues. Her rich background underscores her unwavering dedication to creating safe spaces for children and empowering them to overcome mental health challenges. Looking ahead, Maha is determined to expand her impact in the field of children’s mental health. She envisions delving deeper into research and program development, aiming to implement innovative strategies that address the evolving needs of young individuals.

Lina Abojaradeh

Lina Abojaradeh

Lina has a degree in architectural engineering and identifies herself as an artist and activist. She recently graduated from the Lazord Fellowship for young civic leaders, and is currently a program coordinator at Global Nomads Group, an international NGO dedicated to fostering dialogue among youth. As founder of the volunteer group Archismile, she hopes to use art as a way to engage others, by creating murals with powerful messages in underserved parts of her community. She is also the winner of multiple international awards in filmmaking, writing and art, including the Plural + Film Award and the, “i am a migrant,” (IAAM) campaign. She aims to use her skills in writing poetry, art, and video-making to spread the positive messages she passionately believes in, especially revolving around her home country, Palestine. She has exhibited her work and spoken about her mission in countries including Ireland, Argentina, Turkey, US, Tunisia and Egypt.

Ashraf Farag

Ashraf Farag

Ashraf is an ambitious Yemeni dentist who believes in education and social justice. As a teenager, Amideast Access Program was his doorway to volunteerism. His love and aptitude for education stemmed in part from his family’s struggle with education. Pursuing his dream, he passionately participated in the Lazord Fellowship to make a positive impact on his society.

Musab M. Al-Nahawi

Musab M. Al-Nahawi

“Knowledge is power and difference is a necessity.” – Musab Al-Nahawi

Musab is currently a volunteer with the HeForShe Movement, which focuses on gender equality. This movement is funded by UN Women and partners with SDG Advocates in Jordan. Within the past 5 years, Musab has volunteered with other NGOs such as LOYAC, INJAZ, All Community for Development, For9a.com, and Incitement, working in various roles such as customer service, social media, design, and coordination. Volunteer work has played an important role in his professional growth.

Musab believes that humanitarian work is a part of every person’s life, and that achievement is measured by the change that you make on other people’s lives. He has the passion and motivation for gaining new experiences and knowledge, for effective social change, and for using innovative solutions to overcome social issues in his community.

Through the Lazord Fellowship, Musab conducted research about “Youth Mental Health Awareness in Jordan,” with a group of other Lazord Fellows. However, the research journey is not over yet – this is only the beginning!

Mohammad Amro

Mohammad graduated with a BSc. in civil engineering from The Hashemite University in 2016 and was deeply engaged in various student-led groups and youth organizations during his studies. Post-graduation, he delved into the development sector, contributing his efforts to multiple non-profit organizations such as LoYAC Jordan (DARB program), Global Communities/Partners for Good (MENA Youth Empowerment Strategy Program), and British Council Jordan (Exams Operations). Participation in youth exchange programs ignited Mohammad’s passion for global citizenship education and international cooperation initiatives. His journey led him to the Lazord Fellowship in 2017, where he served as a Projects Officer at Madrasati, an educational initiative by Her Majesty Queen Rania, focusing on projects across Jordan’s governorates. Mohammad’s involvement extended to organizing Lazord Fellowship’s regional conference in Tunisia in 2018, where he led a session on “Peacebuilding in Education.” Currently, Mohammad serves as a Partnerships Specialist at the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in Jordan, overseeing partnership management processes to support DRC’s localization endeavors. He also mentors new Lazord fellows.
