Nihad studied Business Administration and graduated from the Hashemite University with honors. He is passionate about technology and a strong believer in his ability to create an impact and inspire positive change.
Throughout his university years, he worked and volunteered in many civil society organizations and programs.
Nihad truly believes in the importance of self-development and continuous learning; thus, he always works on his knowledge and skills.
He joined one of the most unique programs, Lazord Fellowship, that equipped him with various soft skills and helped him to discover not only civil society, NGOs and the humanitarian field but also himself, and allowed him to work in different areas such as monitoring and evaluation, conducting a research and many more that indirectly helped him to discover his passion in tech.
Therefore, he studied full-stack web development at LTUC – ASAC under one of the most powerful tech boot camps in Jordan in collaboration with Code Fellows Academy and is currently working as a software developer.
Farah is a migration and refugee studies graduate student. During the Lazord Fellowship, she worked as project coordinator in NAYA community network, and she is currently building her career in the field of project management and proposal writing. She has been a part of projects that have different topics and different target groups. However, her interest is growing in gender-related topics, and she is passionate about understanding the psychology behind social norms, especially when it intersects with gender.
Ashraf is a Yemeni youth based in Jordan who holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in conflict management and resolution. He is also currently working as a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) specialist.
Since 2012, Ashraf has continuously been engaged in youth support and activities such as trainings in peacebuilding and critical thinking. He has vast experience in volunteering work and activities in Yemen and Jordan. In addition, he has participated in exchange programs in the USA and France, and in different national and international forums, which has allowed him to develop an integral skill set that he currently shares with other youth through facilitating and providing trainings to help spread his experiences with others.
As a 2020 alumnus of the Lazord Fellowship in Jordan, Ashraf currently provides technical support to the current fellows during their fellowship year. In addition to providing them with different training sessions related to their program journey, he was the main facilitator for the incoming fellows during the 2021 Lazord Annual Conference.
Areen Al-Amayrih is an activist in the field of environment. Also,she is interested in fields related to sustainable development and climate change, and local communities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental management, and a diploma degree in project management and MEAL in NGOs from the German Jordanian University. Results-driven, Expert Youth and Livelihood Programmes Officer and Specialist with five years of experience leading and implementing sustainable projects in civic engagement, and peacebuilding. Recognized for exceptional project leadership, relationship management, and strategic planning skills. She has served as MENA Youth Capacity Building member in humanitarian action Youth Advisory Group (MYAG) from January 2019 to December 2019. MYAG as extension of MENA Youth Capacity Building in Humanitarian Action (MYCHA) training program provided a select of 20 youth from across the MENA region to anchor the skills they learnt in the main training by having access to different practical learning opportunities. She considerably learned and polished knowledge and skills in managing teams, monitoring and evaluation, advocacy, research, and use of social media for humanitarian action. In summary, she has shown the qualities that make him a good youth leader with aptitude for humanitarian assistance, throughout the MYAG mentoring program.
Dana is a currently a project officer in the operations unit at INJAZ, which supports the creation of opportunities for Jordanian youth. Having graduated from the University of Jordan with a B.Sc. in management information systems, Dana has worked for INJAZ for almost five years, the Lazord Fellowship being the stepping stone to her career at INJAZ. “I could see myself with the INJAZ family, and I like to witness the impact on youth and how they become leaders in their community. I myself, was thrilled when I became a Lazord Fellow.” She has been in charge of many projects reporting and conducting intensive (almost daily) follow-up with around 40 colleagues across Jordan; this is a challenging task as it requires collecting information and reporting it to upper management in a dynamic and accurate method. “I have been taking on more responsibilities in the last 5 years and I think I have a lot to learn on how to improve my leadership skills, on a professional and personal level.” Dana believes that, “Today, our survival depends on our ability to stay awake, to adjust to new ideas, to remain vigilant and to face the challenge of change.” She hopes for success for all and for herself in all of their endeavors.
Qusai studied business economics in college. His passion was to work with youth, so upon graduating from Tafila Technical University, he looked for an opportunity that would allow him to continue to work with young people. The Lazord Fellowship gave him this opportunity; through the fellowship and his placement at INJAZ, Qusai had real hands-on experience with young people, his work being to connect them with job opportunities. Since 2014, he has worked hard on decreasing the rate of unemployment in Jordan.
