Mu’taz holds a degree in business administration from Yarmouk University in Jordan. Since his early childhood, he was drawn to community service activities. He is a hard-working and proactive individual with strong problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to learn new concepts fast. He is very passionate about community service projects and has been involved in many projects as a volunteer in youth support and women empowerment programs with different NGOs in Jordan. He believes that the most important factors for success in the career life are to love your field, desire and perseverance to learn, and to have a short and long-term vision that you strive to achieve.

Liliann Saudi

Liliann Saudi

Through the Lazord Fellowship, Liliann is a research assistant at West Asia – North Africa (WANA) Institute, where she is a part of the Like-Minded CAAC Working Group – UNETCHAC. Liliann has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Jordan. Her last internship was at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the media field, in which she was responsible for writing daily and weekly news reports, and assisted more than one research project. She had the opportunity to be the stenographer in the Jordan-EU Association Council-14th session. She is also a volunteer at Global Humanitarian organization. She was an intern at Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, where she attended a lot of trainings and workshops like human rights, climate change, communication skills, dialogue skills and social justice. She was a volunteer at the King Hussein Cancer Center and Foundation (KHCC-KHCF). Lastly, she was an intern at New Tactics in Human Rights-Center for Victims of Torture, where she completed the online course on, “Strategic Advocacy: Planning and tracking advocacy campaigns.”

Abeer Hasan

Abeer Hasan

Abeer is a passionate, hardworking, and professional individual who holds an excellent degree in translation and interpretation. Abeer is an alumna of the MEPI Student Leaders Program, a one-year program that includes a five-week residency in the United States. Abeer is also an alumna of the Access Microscholarship Program, a US Embassy program consisting of 400 academic hours, that took place at World Associates. Her personal and professional achievements allowed her to do a professional training in project management, which gave her the opportunity to implement a successful teaching project at SOS Village in Irbid, made possible by a generous fund from the U.S Embassy in Amman.

What really makes Abeer stand out is her continuous willingness to share the knowledge she gets. She always prefers that information should not stop when it reaches her; she feels the responsibility of reciprocity.

Bayan Al-Smadi

Bayan Al-Smadi

Through the Lazord Fellowship, Bayan is working as a project assistant with the consultancy company Integrated International. She has been a youth activist since 2014 and an ambassador with several organisations such as Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency, INJAZ Organization and others. She represented Canada and Jordan at the Global Youth Summit.

Overmore, her participation in the Amideast Youth Innovation Program has been considered an outstanding success story. In addition, she has a TOT certificate from ILM. She is also working as a researcher in the field of social justice with the West Asia and North Africa Institute. Basil Ibrahim

Basil Ibrahim, a professional trainer with over four years of experience, specializes in conducting training sessions and facilitating discussions on advocacy, human rights, collective responsibility, and conflict resolution and transformation. As a MENA trainer at New Tactics in Human Rights and a LAZORD alumni, Basil has successfully conducted over 30 training sessions across five different countries. Furthermore, Basil extends his impact by giving mentoring for the implementation of advocacy campaigns in the MENA region, effectively combining his training skills with practical guidance for the advancement of human rights causes. In addition to his training and mentoring expertise, Basil is deeply committed to build cross-cultural communication. He volunteers as a facilitator for the Spanish table at Bla Bla for language exchange, actively contributing to language exchange and community building.

Rand Al Khushman

A Jordanian Women Climate Activist, representing Jordan in numerous local, regional, and international platforms and conferences. She focuses on Climate Action, which includes: Awareness, Collaboration, Capacity Building, and Education. She coordinates three projects: the first, Global Solutions, aims to connect students and facilitators from universities in the US, Iraq, and Jordan, utilizing design thinking to find optimal solutions for their community issues, with themes varying from cohort to cohort. The second project, SHE’s GREAT! 2.0, is a comprehensive, community-based, gender-responsive program for youth. It aims to identify and transform gender stereotypes, fostering inclusive communities where students are equipped with networks, STEM training, confidence, and leadership skills to engage fully in their communities and careers. The third project, in collaboration with the National Agricultural Research Center, focuses on enhancing the capacities of youth and women in adopting best practices for water harvesting and sustainable agriculture to address challenges in the upstream area of King Talal Dam. Nour Hammash

Nour Hammash

Nour graduated from the University of Jordan with a bachelor’s degree in German and English as foreign languages. She was granted two scholarships to study in Germany for eight months due to her academic excellence. These experiences enabled her to be self-reliant and immerse easily in new environments. In 2020, her passion for alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations led her towards pursuing a master’s degree in Social Work/Migration and Refugees at the German Jordanian University and utilizing her acquired skills and knowledge in such a practice-based profession. Lastly, Nour has work experience at Mercy Corps as part of the RYSE project implemented in Al Zaatari camp, which aims to enhance civic engagement skills of Syrian refugee youth through art and sports activities.

Rahaf Jaber

Rahaf Jaber

When Rahaf Jaber became a translation consultant with several NGOs such as Save the Children and USAID, she realized that humanitarian work inspired her. As of that moment, she opted to widen her experience to become a skillful translator and interpreter in this sector.

Thereby, Rahaf joined Islamic Relief Worldwide in conjunction with the Lazord Fellowship as a Project Support Officer, being chiefly responsible for reporting and translation. She gained outsize experience and added great value to the organization, especially in reporting, translation, and proposal writing.

Rahaf holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Translation from the University of Petra. Thanks to the tremendous curiosity she had towards her major, she proudly graduated at the top of her class. In 2016, she established her own small business as a freelance translator, building good professional relationships with prestigious NGOs and clients since then.

Obada is a human rights activist who has four years of experience in the human development field as a MEAL Officer, an entrepreneur, and a career advisor, while proudly being a Lazord Alumnus.

Abdelrahman Rayeq

Abdelrahman Rayeq

Abdelrahman is currently working as a U.S. – Jordan Leadership Exchange Senior Program Coordinator.

He has experience in working in various roles in the humanitarian and development field. Previously, Abdelrahman worked with Generations for Peace as a Programs Coordinator on Maharati Leadership Programme, Youth Peace and Security Resolution and Climate Action Programme. Abdelrahman has worked also on Nubader Psychosocial Support Program to support Jordanian and Syrian youth by promoting learning and psychosocial resiliency. Moreover, he has been involved in several volunteering opportunities with different organizations such as Princess Basma Youth Resource Centre, ActionAid, Jordanian Women Qualifying and Training Society, United Nation Volunteers, Al Jude for Scientific Care, International Youth Foundation, SPARK International and Leaders of Tomorrow.

Abdelrahman has an experience in working with youth, children, and women on different fields. He was able to train children on psychodrama as a trainer with ARDD Legal Aid on a community project at Sahab, Amman. In addition, he was a trainer with PBYRC on basic life skills for children from Al Dulail, Jordan, and Syrian refugees aiming to increase social cohesion between these communities.

He worked as a Training Coordinator at Jordan Paramedic Society. In his role, he was responsible for all training development projects of the personnel of The Ministry of Health. Furthermore, he has experience in working as a consultant. He is specialist in the training of trainers, british parliament debate skills and project management of development in civic, social, and political organizations. Also, Abdelrahman is a member of many regional and international youth networks and organizations such as Electron Youth Network and the Lazord Foundation Fellows Network.

Abdelrahman was the facilitator at the Lazord retreat, focusing on the well-being of fellows. He coordinated workshops centered on self-care, mindfulness, and team building. The program aimed to empower fellows, nurturing resilience, and revitalizing their dedication to their missions.
