Tamara Jumean

Tamara is a young driven individual who joined the Lazord Fellowship to pursue her goals and kick-off her journey in civil society engagement. She graduated first in her class from the University of Jordan with a degree in Applied English.

She has previous professional experience working as a translator, and a record of volunteering experience in her local community with children and young adults. She has strong communication and organizational skills, alongside the ability to multitask and grasp new concepts quickly. She is looking forward to contributing with her skills and dedication and further growing them in her new placement as a Program Development Assistant at War Child Holland.

She has a strong passion for civil society and making an impact, as she has always been aware of society’s struggles and the need for solidarity to provide a better life for everyone, especially children. She has always believed in following her dreams, and being part of positive social change is her ultimate dream.

Mousa Badran

A dedicated volunteer for nine years, he initiated his community impact through interactive theatre training with NAYA camp and ActionAid, during high school. This led to the establishment of NAYA, where he held diverse roles, from IT assistant to event coordinator. Furthermore, he expanded his community outreach by engaging with Tawazi Message and Y-Peer for sexual and reproductive health awareness.

Also, he was a participant in the “English Access” Small Scholarship Program, sponsored by the US Embassy, where he immersed himself in the American culture while honing his language skills. He became an ambassador for Zarqa Kasaba and he collaborated with USAID to address community challenges.

Later he evolved into a cybersecurity specialist, and he now leads the cybersecurity unit at Naya Community Network, reflecting a transformative journey shaped by years of volunteering and continuous learning. Currently, he works as M&E with Finn Church Aid.

Christine Shemplian

Christine is a Biology and Biotechnology graduate from the American University of Madaba.

She has enjoyed volunteering and supporting the community ever since she was a small child. Working with kids and youth has been a pleasure to her, where she has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service by volunteering as a leader in Homenetmen Armenian Scout. In addition, she has been supporting and working with vulnerable groups abroad through Erasmus+ projects.

Through the Lazord Fellowship, she is currently working as a Communications Assistant at Finn Church Aid (FCA). She considers Lazord as a unique opportunity to break into the humanitarian and development sectors by working closely with like-minded individuals and organizations. “This fellowship represents an invaluable opportunity for me to further develop my expertise, collaborate with experts in the field, and amplify my impact. I am committed to working tirelessly to promote youth empowerment and create lasting change. Together, we can empower young people and shape a brighter future for all”.

Anees Abuoudeh

Anees Abuoudeh is a highly skilled professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He brings a wealth of experience to the table, having worked in diverse roles. Anees’s background includes a 6-month stint as a data analyst, where he developed a sharp eye for data interpretation and analysis, making him proficient in transforming data into actionable insights. Subsequently, he transitioned to a 2-month role as an external auditor, gaining valuable expertise in financial compliance and auditing practices.

Currently, Anees holds the position of a MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) and Communication Assistant. In this capacity, he leverages his financial acumen and strong communication skills to support project tracking, ensuring that results are communicated effectively. Anees’s adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges make him an asset in his field, poised for sustained professional growth and impact.

Mohammad Sweidat

Mohammad Sweidat

Mohammad is a Jordanian non-governmental organizations professional with 3+ years of experience in NGOs and extensive experience coordinating multi-stakeholder development projects related to local governance, accountability, and advocacy in Jordan and the MENA region. Currently, Mohammad is part of the Advocacy and Government Affairs team at the King Hussein Cancer Foundation. In addition to his role in managing Siwar Program, a program with more than 10,000 volunteers supporting the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Centre in achieving their objectives, Mohammad also supports the national advocacy efforts that focus on serving KHCF’s patients’ centered agenda, enabling the success of the interventions in policy form, advocacy evidence generation, and stakeholder engagement and mobilization.

Samah Ben Tareef

Samah Ben Tareef

Samah is a passionate young woman in transformative change in communities. She has professional experience in monitoring, evaluation and project management in many sectors including education, socio-economic research, needs assessments and management consulting. She has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Jordan. She is a PMD certified candidate. She was selected as the recipient of the fellowship for the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) of the the Middle East and North Africa Scholarship Programme (MSP) under the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She passed the PHAP Credential Program Core Certification in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning. Samah currently is a senior consultant at PwC where she works in the project management on big transformative projects in the gulf region.

Abdallah Hassouneh

Abdallah Hassouneh

Abdallah Hassouneh is a youth activist and content creator, a Jordanian media and communications professional with 6 years of experience working with different local and international organizations in the non-profit sector. He has in-depth experience in design, communications, social media, photography, and filmmaking. Hassouneh is highly skilled at balancing multiple projects and coordinating tasks.

Nada AlQudah

Nada AlQudah

Nada is a children’s advocate and protection enthusiast with a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature.

Since she was 18 years old, Nada has joined several organizations and networks such as the British Council, Arabic HeforShe, and Loyac Jordan, focusing on child protection, education, and youth development. She is fortunate to have been able to engage in such opportunities where she has built a passion for child protection and education.

During the Lazord Fellowship, Nada worked with Global Nomads Group in global enrichment programs for young learners in the Middle East and the United States to promote empathy and peace, and build 21st-century workforce skills. Additionally, for the Lazord Fellowship Final Research Project, she conducted research on the, “Impact of social media platforms on self-esteem and body image,” and presented her project during the Lazord International Conference.

After the fellowship, Nada began working for refugees and vulnerable communities, with a focus on protection, inclusion, and gender, at a local organization in Jordan. She has led an advocacy campaign for children who have experienced the worst forms of child labor in partnership with Walk Free organization.

Batool Altaher

Batool Altaher

Batool is a very passionate and active law student interested in human rights and women’s rights. Through the Lazord Fellowship, she worked for one year at Plan International, on a project which aims to empower girls and young women and enhance their participation in the decision-making process. This opportunity enriched her project management skills, in addition to empowering her with the importance of human rights-based projects to change harmful social norms.

Waseem Otoom

Waseem Otoom

Waseem hold’s a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Jordan, and has 3+ years of intensive experience working and volunteering in INGOs. Waseem actively participates in community-based initiatives that contribute to finding solutions related to education, human rights and micro, small, and medium enterprises.
